Carolyn L. Hunter | Retired Second-Grade Teacher

Carolyn L. Hunter has taught elementary school students for more than three decades. Within that time frame, she has enjoyed helping children develop self-assurance, confidence and conviction. In addition, she has helped them engage in various learning platforms, and become enthusiastic about education.

Ms. Hunter is proud to have given children these opportunities. Her commitment to learning, paired with her passion for teaching, secured for her students a positive, structured learning environment. Ms. Hunter regularly taught them core subjects, including reading, writing, mathematics and art, and instilled responsibility in her students—helping them realize that they have the power to be anything they want to be.

In her retirement, Ms. Hunter continues to spread positive ideals, through volunteer work and charitable donations. She contributes to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Disabled American Veterans, the American Cancer Society and the Arthritis Foundation.

Carolyn L. Hunter taught second-grade students at E.A. Harrold Elementary School of Shelby County Schools. Her goals as an educator were to help them boost their confidence through coursework, and make education enjoyable.
